Hi Emma - We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our cruise (8th -18th August, 2022). Elizabeth G is a beautifully maintained, classic boat and we felt very safe at all times in the capable and experienced hands of her skipper Chris. Chef Sarah & Bosun Zara fed us so well and nothing was too much trouble when looking after us and all our fellow guests. We also managed, with Lynsey’s help, to learn a lot that we didn’t know before about Scottish wildlife. Overall it was a brilliant experience that we would recommend highly to anyone. Please pass on our many thanks to all of the crew. Warmest wishes, Lorna & Philip Hall.

Lynsey was amazing at spotting dolphins from really far off and knowledgeable about walks. The menu was excellent and Sarah was a very good cook, I have got some of her recipes. Zara was very enthusiastic and always helpful and obliging and worked hard to please.

Amazing time! The crew went the extra mile, despite indifferent weather. Sightings of dolphins (one pod of over 200 !), whales, porpoise, golden and white tailed eagles, otters...... and so much more!. Amazing waterfalls and coastlines, tranquil bays for calm night’s sleep after wonderful food and excellent wine.... topped off by good company and excellent guiding.

Emma was very prompt informing us of a cancellation which enabled us to do the Far-flung Islands Cruise. All very friendly, informal and helpful. Delighted to be taken to 2 of my most favourite anchorages ever, Rona and Loch Scavaig! And wonderful to discover others to compete. Scenery is stunning whatever the weather. Onshore trips were well planned and balanced according to the capacity of clients. I enjoyed freedom at times. Crew local knowledge is what makes these trips so special…knowing where to find the wildlife and where to shelter when necessary is fundamental. Well done! Recent alterations on Elizabeth G are brilliant. Go for it!

Emma - Just a word to say how much we enjoyed our cruise on Emma Jane. The staff on board were all excellent and made the whole experience quite memorable in their own ways. The cruise itinerary was very good and and we achieved most of our wish list! Wild life spotting was good fun and very rewarding. Catering was to very high standard and helped make every day a pleasure. Finally, crew were superb, operating at very high standards throughout, working very well with the passengers. Sandy Tosh.

Dear Emma - I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday. Our hope was that we would visit some of the more remote and inaccessible islands of the Outer Hebrides, and you certainly achieved that. We visited 11 islands in our 10 day trip and of the 2 where we had been before we saw parts not previously explored so were delighted. The crew were professional and attentive. Chris, Craig and Nigel have lots of trips under their belts. Our chef Lulu was a superb cook and a delight. Her enthusiasm was magnetic. Nigel was very happy to share some helpful photography tips and lessons for those of us who wanted to use the opportunity to expand our photography skills. Composition and use of the camera functions were explained and were eagerly applied and the resultant photos perhaps a little better than might otherwise have been achieved by the keen pupils, but still a long way short of Nigel's inspiring images. We came to see more islands, we achieved that in spades. We also had great fun, walked and hiked miles, saw some amazing sights and landscapes. Watched wildlife in action, learned to recognise the wildlife we saw, developed a healthy respect for the sea, had a sense of awe at the remoteness and resourcefulness of the far flung communities. Altogether we came away with a refreshing outlook on life and warm memories shared with 12 fellow shipmates that is hard to believe 10 days previously had never met each other. Wishing you every success for what is left of this season and next and the forthcoming awards on 22nd November.

Our trip to the Outer Hebrides was exceptional in every way; the talented staff; the comfortable accommodations; the little details (a refreshing glass of Prosecco on the return of each day's trip); the always-full cookie jar; the welcoming and beautifully decorated table spread with good food; the post-dinner discussions and chart-reading with Captain James and our naturalist, Will; the frolicking Bottlenose dolphins "bow riding" upside down next to the "Emma Jane"; the seals lazily lounging on the rocky ledges; the Minke whales; the diving gannets, nesting puffins, and Great Skua (nicknamed "Bonzies" by the Scots.....Will photographed one Bonxie trying to grab a mackerel away from a shearwater); the while fulmars flitting in and out the rocky crevices; and our wonderful trip companions. It was a trip to treasure and relive many times in future years! Every new adventure offered the chance to read and to learn about the many marine birds, the "beasties" (ocean mammals), and the fascinating stories and history of the Outer Hebrides. All experiences were unique; hiking in the Isle of Eigg to the "Massacre Cave"; viewing habitats of nesting puffins, guillemots, shags, fulmars on the cliffs of the "Shiants" and St. Kilda's; seeing the aquaculture salmon rafts stretched in a row off the coast of Skye; steaming across the water to the archipelago of St. Kilda's and experiencing the view of Hirta, St. Kilda's main island, mysteriously rising out of the fog as we approached the island All were memorable experiences. And we were lucky! The weather was perfect for our trip....some light drizzle off and on, some wind but no strong "houlies" (very strong winds)! This is a trip of a lifetime. We recommend it with enthusiasm and with joyful memories! Sally and Alan Gayer June 2019 Private Cruise to the Outer Hebrides and St. Kilda's
