The Inner Hebrides is an outstanding seafood destination with the clear waters providing an abundance of delicious produce. This cruise will transport our guests on a unique culinary adventure to discover the very best seafood, so fresh it can be picked and presented on their dinner plate within hours. We visit where oysters and mussels are grown sustainably on the Isle of Mull and pick our own from the honesty boxes on shore. Crab, langoustine and lobster are available from the local fishing vessels, while our onboard ships diver will hand-dive for scallops. April is one of the best months for brown trout and sea trout and we will be in close contact with the local fishermen to serve up this delicious delicacy. The menu wont consist entirely of seafood - other local produce will be included and as usual, personal food preferences and allergies are provided for. Any guest who enjoys seafood who wishes to bring a partner less keen will be catered for!
The on-board Chef for this cruise is William Rocks, Chef Patron at Tigh an Truish on the Isle of Seil and a previous Masterchef quarterfinalist. His local knowledge of the Hebrides and its produce, combined with a passion for seafood will provide the most delicious meals, served while anchored in serene sea lochs with a new scenic vista every day. This amazing seafood extravaganza takes place while cruising through spectacular scenery and enjoying wonderful hospitality. As always, the crew will be looking out for wildlife, with dolphins, minke whales, porpoises, otters and red deer spotted regularly from the decks. The itinerary will include the dramatic coastlines of Mull and Ardnamurchan and, weather permitting, will reach the western side of Mull and call in at the idyllic isle of Iona

The food on all Hebrides Cruises is excellent but this cruise takes it to a whole new level. If you love seafood then you won’t have tasted anything fresher, all exquisitely prepared by our restauranter chef Will. Layer that with wildlife spotting of White Tailed eagles, otters, porpoises, Minke it’s no surprise that I give this 5 stars.

A delightful, well managed trip! I particularly enjoyed the wildlife knowledge and skills of Lyndsay, the cooking of Will, the highly professional stewarding from Jasmin and the company and positivity of Chris. Every aspect of Hebrides cruises is well thought through and overseen with care and rigour by Rob. The company was great too. Emma Jane is a poem of a boat who sits beautifully in the water and has terrific circulation and lounge spaces in addition to lovely cabins.

Chris went out of his way to avoid the threatened weather, with the happy result that the weather was much better than expected at this time of year. The team also arranged the itinerary to make sure that, where a guest had specific requests, these were accommodated (and without having a negative impact on the other guests). They tried very hard to show us as many species of wildlife as possible and to introduce us to areas and their history that we might not have been aware of. The guided walks were much more interesting than going on our own and the crew took great care in getting us all on and off shore, with radios for safety when we decided to split up. The presence of Hannah, in particular, made all the difference. Her knowledge of the local wildlife was exceptional and it was very interesting to hear about the islands and communities that we visited. She (and Chris) kept a look-out to make sure that anything of interest was highlighted to us on the voyage and her end of day wrap up reminded us of what we’d seen. Craig looked after us very well and seemed to be everywhere – he was certainly very hard working. I think that he cleaned the cabins as well – he definitely did a good job there. Along with Hannah, the meals that Izzy cooked were the best thing about the cruise for me. On a previous cruise (with another small company), the quality and service of the food (and the garrulous chef) spoiled the cruise for me. I was a little worried about this when I joined this cruise, but needn’t have been. Izzy was a great cook, providing a nice variety of well-cooked meals. Serving sizes were appropriate for the daily menus and we did not go hungry (or leave the table feeling too full). I looked forward to seeing what the next meal would be and also very much enjoyed her cakes. The whole team looked after us very well, but weren’t too obtrusive, allowing us to have quiet moments and to talk amongst ourselves.
